Feasible Alternative Selection Process
  • Alignments within preferred corridor were considered first
  • Alignments slightly outside of preferred corridor were considered in response to comments received both at the January 19, 2005 Open House #3 and afterwards
  • Avoidance of homes and parkway design criteria are the primary factors

Parkway Design Criteria
  • Follows current safety standards
  • Four lane divided parkway with grass median between northbound and southbound lanes
  • Posted parkway speed of 45 mph
  • At-grade intersection at each existing public road
  • No new intersections between Hyatts and Bunty Station Roads (limited access)

  • All begin and end at the same location (Home Road at the south and South Section Line at the north)
  • All are in the same location until just north of Clark-Shaw Road
  • Four feasible alignments in vicinity of Ford Road
  • These four alignments eventually combine to form a single alignment at US 42
